Veritas
The board of Veritas granted me a position as the Latin teacher there for the next year. I am so excited. I went straight out and borrowed ten books from the OU library on pedagogy and classroom management, classical education, and teaching Latin. I've also gotten ahold of the textbooks for the next year, so I'm already looking through them and trying to formulate lesson plans.
Plus, I'm just loving being in Latin again. I'm having a ball in my class, and I'm super psyched about continuing in the fall and probably next spring. At this point, I'm thinking grad school for classical languages and culture. Maybe in England?

I love teaching so much. What you're doing - researching pedagogy, formulating lessons, etc., is so fun. Getting in front of a class and seeing your work come to fruition in your students is even better. I love it. I miss it. Have fun!

I love Latin music. Maybe you could play some in your class. It is so spicy and festive. Maybe bring in some Latin food too. Like beans and rice and tortillas. That sounds good. Muy bueno!!

Yes, graduate training in Latin on the sceptered isle is a fine plan. you know, we talk to one another in Latin there sometime just for fun. Also we ride most places by horse and carriage and wear those tall stiff necked collars that make it really difficult to look ruefully into the distant parts of one's country estate whilst regretting the unfortunate turn of events in one's romance with the local well-bred hotty. You'd love it.

Hey, what happened with your bro and the ortho showdown? Did he win the showcase? I voted for him...a lot. He really is quite dishy after all...

My blessing to you:
audax, bellus, optime, beatus vita.
I love you.

Yay Annie!!!! As a former teacher, here's the most important piece of advice I can give you: Start out tough and don't smile until after Thanksgiving. You can always lighten up, but once you've lost control of a class, it's hard to get it back. Be fair but firm. You're in my prayers,
Jessie's Mom
